Real Madrid were crowned Champions League winner again after a 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.

Dani Carvajal opened the scoring from Toni Kroos' sublime corner before Vinicius Junior wrapped up the game near the end with a delightful chip.

Dortmund were arguably the better team for the majority of the game, but they couldn't take their chances.

Niclas Fullkrug hit the post and Karim Adeyemi missed an open goal, and they were brutally punished for that.

Carvajal's goal came late in the second half before Ian Maatsen gifted a pass to Jude Bellingham, and he slipped a pass into Vinicius Jr, who did the rest.

Los Blancos were not at their best, but this is what they do, they win in Europe.

    Terzic proud of his players

Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic was gutted to lose the Champions League final, but he thought his team played very well.

Speaking to TNT Sports, he said: "It's difficult to find the right words.

"Performance-wise, it was a great game, but we also found out why they became champions for the 15th time.

"They are so effective, and this was something we missed it.

"But we gave a really good game and showed everyone we were here to win, there were just some small things missing.

"I am proud. This is a proud moment. We brought nearly 100,000 people to London, and it was a fantastic journey, but I am a bit empty."

Our story continues, and we couldn’t do it without your support. Our Yellow Wonderwall through it all.

    Thank you 💛

    Devastation

11 years ago, Borussia Dortmund lost the Champions League final at Wembley, and it's happened again.

It's hard to say they were outclassed and were actually the better team, but if you don't score, you always leave yourself vulnerable.

Real Madrid 2-0 Borussia Dortmund - REACTION

    • Real Madrid have won the European Cup/UEFA Champions League for the 15th time in their history, which is now more than twice as many times as any other club (Milan with the next-most on 7).
    • Carlo Ancelotti has won the European Cup/UEFA Champions League more times than any other manager (5), with three of those coming in charge of Real Madrid. This is also the joint-most for a manager in charge of a specific team, along with Bob Paisley at Liverpool (3) and Zinedine Zidane, also at Real Madrid (3).
    • Borussia Dortmund have only won one of their last five finals in major European competition (3-1 v Juventus in the 1997 UEFA Champions League), and have now lost each of their last three in a row (v Feyenoord in 2002, FC Bayern München in 2013 and Real Madrid in 2024).
    • This was the sixth winning campaign for Real Madrid quadruple Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Dani Carvajal and Nacho in the UEFA Champions League, taking them level with Paco Gento (6) as the players who have won the European Cup/UEFA Champions League the most times in history.
